Staircases

Elegance and Natural Strength

Interior wooden staircases with a stringer structure offer an elegant and durable solution, suitable for a wide range of architectural styles – from rustic and classic to contemporary and minimalist.

Depending on the project design, the staircases can be made with closed or open stringers, with or without risers, to meet both the aesthetic and functional requirements of each space.

Stringer Structure

  • Closed Stringers

In this configuration, the treads are set between the two stringers, giving the staircase a solid, compact, and traditional appearance.

This type of structure is particularly suitable for classic interiors or projects where a clearly defined visual appearance is desired.

  • Open Stringers (External)

The treads are positioned above or on the outside of the stringers, remaining visible from the side and following the line of the staircase.

This configuration creates a lighter and more dynamic design, suitable for modern and minimalist interiors.

With or Without Risers

  • With Risers

The riser is the vertical element between two treads.

Staircases with risers provide greater visual and structural stability, as well as a more compact and classic appearance. They are suitable for residential properties and projects where the space beneath the staircase is intended to be concealed.

  • Without Risers (Open Staircases)

Staircases without risers have a modern, airy design, leaving the space between the treads open.

They allow more light to pass through and create a greater sense of space, making them suitable for contemporary interiors or smaller spaces.

Advantages of Wooden Stringer Staircases

  • Warm and natural appearance, suitable for any interior style
  • Multiple customisation options: wood species, finishes, and types of balustrades
  • High mechanical strength, particularly when using hardwood species (oak, beech, ash)
  • Relatively simple installation and easy maintenance

Examples of Common Configurations

  • Closed Stringers + Risers: a solid, classic look, ideal for traditional interiors
  • Open Stringers + No Risers: a contemporary, airy, and bright design
  • Closed Stringers + No Risers: a balance between classic and modern styles
  • Open Stringers + Risers: a less common configuration with an original, contrasting look
